The CIVITAS Forum Conference 2017 will take place in Torres Vedras (Portugal)
from 27-29 September. Apply now for the CIVITAS awards competition and to host
the 2018 CIVITAS Forum Conference. Deadline is 14 July 2017.
This annual event brings together the CIVITAS community from across Europe: hundreds of mobility experts, policy-makers and stakeholders, all of whom are devoted to the development of sustainable urban mobility in their cities. On 28 September the CIVITAS awards competition will also be celebrated.
This is the big occasion to award Europe’s most pioneering examples of policy-making and action on sustainable urban mobility and widely promotes these in the international media, inspiring cities across Europe and providing role models for further development in this field.
This competition is open to all cities that have signed the CIVITAS Declaration and aslo members of Civitas Forum. The deadline for applications is 11 August 2017. The prizes encompass four categories:
The “Bold Measure Award” rewards a daring and innovative approach that has not been widely implemented yet and positions the city as pioneer in certain thematic categories
The “Take Up” award rewards a single or an integrated set of innovative sustainable urban mobility measures that your city has successfully transferred to another
The “CIVITAS Legacy” award rewards cities that have successfully translated their inspiring and committed involvement in CIVITAS into long-term implementation of innovative measures with a high impact.
The “Transformations” award will recognise significant transformation and progress towards a liveable and smarter city through an integrated set of mobility measures.
Moreover, the call for hosting the next CIVITAS Forum Conference in 2018 is now open until 14 July 2017.
This is a great opportunity for cities to show achivementes and best practices in the field of clean and sustainable urban transport. Due to the high-ranking media attention, the Forum provides the city with the chance to place itself at the forefront of the sustainable urban transport community. Each conference involves directly over 400 experts on mobility, sustainable development and urban transport including academics and politicians.
