The content and first findings of the CITIES GROW project will be disseminated during the conference on ‘Social innovation for refugee inclusion: Maintaining momentum and creating lasting change’ hosted by the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC).
The conference will examine how successful new approaches to support the social and economic inclusion of refugees and asylum seekers can grow beyond pockets of innovation and inspire structural change. A special focus will be on newcomers’ integration in the labour market and the role of the private sector in fostering their employment and advancement. Therefore, it will be a good occasion to explain the content and the activities done in the CITIES GROW project on the economic integration of migrants and refugees.
The event is organised by the United States Mission to the European Union, the Mission of Canada to the European Union, the Migration Policy Institute Europe (MPI Europe), and the EESC. It will bring together a diverse group of public officials, business leaders, service designers, social entrepreneurs, civil society organisations, and refugee initiatives from different countries.
